Barbershop music consists of 4 parts: "Tenor" (highest voice), "Lead" (melody line), "Baritone" (middle voice harmony), and "Bass" (lowest voice). Serious Treble is:

Tenor

Melissa has been a member of Sweet Adelines International since 2002. She is the youngest member of our quartet and keeps us hip with her cool choreography moves! She's been singing her whole life and was a member of the Biola University Chorus. She is the mom of Debra's four-year-old granddaughter, Scarlett, and three-month old grandson, Jude, and is a member of Santa Monica Chorus. We love Melissa's youthful spirit and fun-loving energy. And her voice adds brilliance to our sound.

Lead

Shelly has also been a Sweet Adeline member since 2002. A singer/songwriter, pianist, guitarist, percussionist, recording artist, music teacher, and professional music therapist, she has three music degrees, including an M.A. in music therapy from New York Univeristy. She has worked with adults and children with various disabilities, using music to improve their quality of life. She has also taught nursery school for 15 years and holds an M.A. in early childhood educational pyschology. These days she spends most of her time studying child development at home with her new baby girl. Shelly also sings with the Santa Monica Chorus, where she is inspired each week by director, Laura Pallas.

Baritone

Debra has been a member of Sweet Adelines International since 1992. She has been singing and competing in quartets for over 13 years, ranking 4th and 5th place several times (and now 3rd!) in regional competitions in "Reveille" and "You Go Girlz!" Debra is also a member of Santa Monica Chorus. Debra has one son, Josh, who happens to be married to Melissa. Debra is arguably the world's sexiest grandma! She is a talented designer and seamstress with great artistic vision, often creating the costumes worn by her quartets and choruses. In addition, she also is the bookkeeper for her husband, Hank's, architectural firm in Long Beach, CA. We love singing with Debra because she always adds a lot of sass and flair to our look and sound!

Bass

Jeannie Vercillo has been a Sweet Adeline since 1974 and is a member of Verdugo Hills Showtime Chorus. She also has loved singing in quartets and has been in 3 Regional Champion Quartets; Classic Tradition (1979); Original Bass of Panache (1988); Angel City, six times Regional Champs from 1990 - 2002 and International Semi-Finalists. In her other life, she is a manager of a baby business in Santa Monica and Hollywood called The Pump Station. Best of all she is married to Michael (almost 40 years!)and enjoys their hobby of off-roading with him and some adventurous friends. Next best of all are their 2 children who have given them 6 amazing grandchildren. "Music has been such an important part of my life and I am thrilled to be quartetting again with the wonderfully talented women of Serious Treble. It's going to be a great ride and I am looking forward to the excitement of the trip!"
